We believe that every child, regardless of their background or financial situation, should have the opportunity to participate in sports and develop important life skills.
Our Mission
The Foundation for Grayson Sports (FGS) is dedicated to fostering youth participation in sports by providing financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to boys and girls in Grayson County, grades 1 through 6, who are unable to afford these costs. We aim to ensure that every child, regardless of their economic background, has the opportunity to engage in sports and benefit from the positive impact of athletic involvement.

Why This Mission
According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), 50% of Grayson Co. students are economically disadvantaged.

The average total cost (per sport per child) for registration & equipment is $257. Without recycling equipment, youth football can cost a family over $400.

H.S. graduation rates are 9.6%+ higher for student athletes.

Due to the cost of youth sports, hundreds of Grayson County kids don’t start playing competitive sports until 7th grade, when the school districts pay the cost of sports.
